This applies to all donations, sponsorship and Friends subscriptions in aid of the TBS concerts in Farnham, Farnham Sinfonia and Godalming Conservatoire Concerts.
If you pay tax and sign a Gift Aid Declaration then TBS can reclaim an extra 25p for every pound given as a donation or paid as a subscription.
Paying tax refers to tax actually paid ie for amounts above the tax-free allowances (note: tax on interest and dividends changed in 2017), including:
- income tax whether collected by employer or pension fund or paid separately by yourself,
- tax on interest,
- tax on dividends from shares and unit trusts, and
- capital gains tax.
If you pay tax at the higher rate you can also claim your own tax reduction by declaring the gifts on your tax return.
You can make a declaration once, and then it applies for all gifts in any of the past four years and into the future, you do not need to make a new declaration for each future gift or payment, but you do need to tell us if you cease to pay tax.
You can make a Gift Aid Declaration either by:
- completing an on-line form (easiest method), or
- sending an email, or
- printing and posting a Gift Aid Form
Details are below
Declaration by on-line form
You can make the declaration by completing the following form and clicking SEND (you do not need to print and post anything). Please give your legal first name as on your passport even if it is not the one you commonly use. Gift Aid Declaration
Declaration by email
You can make your declaration by email by copying the following (with your details added) into an email and sending it to email@example.com.
The sum that I am transferring to the TBS – Tilford Bach Society (CIO) including Farnham Sinfonia and Godalming Conservatoire Concerts is intended first to reimburse the Society for any benefits in kind that I receive that are above the limits permitted under Gift Aid; and after doing that the remainder is intended as a qualifying gift under Gift Aid.
Please treat in this manner, until I notify you otherwise, all transfers of money made in
– the last 4 years
– and in the future.
I understand that the Society will reclaim tax (currently 25p) for every £1 that I pay.
I am a UK taxpayer and understand that if I pay less Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all my donations in that tax year it is my responsibility to pay any difference (I understand that HMRC may make checks)
I will notify you if I cease to pay sufficient tax or change my name or address, or otherwise wish to cancel this declaration.
Legal first name (may be different from the one you normally use):
